|Tasting notes||Maroon with a purple tint. A classical savoury Cabernet perfume. Vibrant blackcurrant fruit with gravel earth, hints of venison, mushrooms and truffles mingle with a fine sage-like herbal lift. Fragrant spiced oak notes sit beautifully underneath, delivering a touch of classical cedar. A light entrance leads to juicy fruit with bright acidity, with flavours of blackcurrant and woodsy native forest. Shapely as a Cabernet should be, the power starts to build with a fine tannin profile, leaving a lengthy dry, linear finish.|
|Use occasion|Surrounded by ocean on three sides, Margaret River enjoys nearly perfect conditions for viticulture. Its ‘west coast Mediterranean’ climate and ancient soil is ideal for producing wines balanced and consistent in style, with pronounced varietal character and aroma. 1967, Dr Tom Cullity planted the first vines at Vasse Felix to found Margaret River’s first vineyard and winery. As a family owned and operated winery, Holmes à Court Family has been remaining the core ethos of Margaret River. Among the high qualities wines, the Heytesbury Red and Vasse Felix Cabernet Sauvignon are rated into Langton’s Classification. Ms.Virginia Willcock, the perth-born Chief Winemaker of Vasse Felix, has over two decades experience of Margaret River vintages and drives the ethos that only the finest parcels will ever be crafted into a Vasse Felix wine.
