The origin of what would eventually become Francis Ford Coppola Winery started in 1997 with the creation of the first brand and wine of the Diamond Collection. In 2006, Francis Coppola acquired the future home and site of the Francis Ford Coppola Winery in Geyserville, Sonoma County. The "brand" is also a person, a filmmaker/director, a second generation Italian American. The wine making team of Francis Ford Coppola Winery consists of 5 world class winemakers and a crew of over 60.
