Wine has been produced on this family-owned wine estate since 1695. The combination of exceptional terroir, situated on perfect aspects along the Stellenbosch Mountains, provide basic ingredients for the wines. The relentless effort of the wine-making team, a commitment to the highest quality, along with international experience, has positioned the wines amongst the best from South Africa. Often they are referred to as the "Kleine Miracle". Kleine Zalze swept the field at the 2007 International Wine and Spirit Competition in London, where it entered seven wines taking home all medals. The event was capped by Kleine Zalze winning the 'South African Wine Producer of the Year'.
